Isolation

 The feeling of Isolation.
Although surrounded by many.

People you know and care for,
yet still left out of place.

Too old to fit in with the younger,
Too inexperienced to speak with the elder.

Interests never aligning with the conversations overheard.
No willingness to jump into a conversation uninvited.

It's usually family gatherings where this feeling continues to linger.
But not uncommon to feel even when with friends.

Constantly distancing from those around me,
Could I find the will to wander a little closer?
